Conflux LED Lighting and Personal Charger among new Teknion workplace products making International CES debut
LAS VEGAS, January 6, 2011 − Teknion Corporation today announced that, in conjunction with the Powermat company, it will be showing several of its Powermat wireless charging technology system products for the first time at the 2011 International Consumer Electronics Show (CES) – the world’s largest consumer technology tradeshow – in Las Vegas, Nevada, from January 6-9.
“CES is the ideal opportunity for Teknion, in partnership with Powermat, to showcase a selection of our exciting new products designed for office and corporate environments that feature the Powermat wireless recharging technology,” said David Feldberg, Teknion President & CEO. “Realizing that technology is the main facilitator of change in the modern workplace, we have developed products that embrace Powermat technology to address these evolving needs.”
Powermat is a wireless charging technology system that simplifies a user’s power requirements. It profiles any low-powered electronic device’s power needs with which it makes contact, providing power only as needed, and only when the device and the surface are in immediate proximity.
Teknion products on display utilizing Powermat technology include:
Conflux LED Light with Powermat Base
The Conflux Adjustable Task Light is part of the new Conflux LED Lighting collection. It acts as a dual-functioning desk lamp that charges devices through its base with Powermat technology.
The Personal Charger is a recharging storage box that mounts on an accessory rail or independently on any surface. The box lid provides the charging surface while the storage base houses the Powermat charging accessories.
Edgemount is a charging device that quickly and simply attaches anywhere along the edge of a worksurface, allowing for ease of access and convenient use of devices and earphones. Edgemount, Personal Charger and the Conflux Adjustable Task Light deliver real-time, wireless charging for today’s popular portable electronic devices including iPods, iPhones, BlackBerry devices, mobile phones, GPS, handheld games and some cameras. They offer more freedom, convenience and functionality by reducing the demand on outlets, wires and space used at a workstation. Both the Conflux LED Lighting line and Personal Charger were designed for Teknion by industrial designer Carl Gustav Magnusson.
The 2011 International CES runs from January 6-9 at the Las Vegas Convention Center/Las Vegas Hilton, Las Vegas, Nevada. Over 125,000 attendees and 2,500 exhibitors from more than 130 other countries are expected to attend the annual event, which is produced by the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA).
