Powermat Technologies was established in 2006 in response to the explosion of electronic devices flooding today’s market and the growing need to provide a simple, smart, efficient and clutter-free approach for powering devices. Since 2009, when our first products were launched, millions of consumers around the world have enjoyed freedom from the constant need to plug/unplug their devices. They’ve said “goodbye, good riddance” to their tangled power cords, and no longer have to worry about running on empty.

Powermat’s technology – embedded in OEM devices and sold at retail channels under the Duracell Powermat™ brand – lead the market in device compatibility, retail availability, technological advancement, consumer experience and brand. Moreover, Powermat is also a ‘smart’ technology, sensing when a device is fully charged, and then halting power delivery at optimal charging capacity; effectively eliminating energy waste.

In September 2011, we announced a partnership with the Procter & Gamble Company to create a joint venture, Duracell Powermat. By combining P&G’s strong consumer understanding, brand-building and go-to- market capabilities with Powermat’s breakthrough technology, Duracell Powermat will deliver an ecosystem of best-in-class wireless power solutions for retail customers.

As Powermat charges forward, we’re continuing to develop new solutions for original equipment manufacturers, together working towards a vision of a truly wireless world. With significant miniaturization of receiver electronics, superior ergonomic design, and receivers for the most popular smartphones on the market, the Powermat platform is ideal for integration by OEMs.
