Powermat’s wireless charging solutions for autonomous robotic systems, drones, and LEVs is based on a small, lightweight, power receiver circuitry & antenna assembled onto the robot/drone itself, along with a transmitter coil and circuitry-based system embedded in the charging/landing station enabling full autonomy when charging.
Based on Powermat’s SmartInductive™ technology, Powermat’s wireless charging reference designs enable design flexibility and allows our team of specialists to tailor-fit wireless charging solutions based on our customers’ specific product requirements and needs.
Once power requirements are defined, the magnetics can be selected based on the final product mechanics and defined user experience. Electrical interfaces, power management features, and other selectable features are then chosen to meet the target system requirements.

Wireless power transfer
The system’s advanced power transmitter algorithms can deliver up to 300W, with no need for accurate alignment, with over 90% wireless power efficiency, and replaces low-reliability galvanic connectors or pins commonly used. Powermat’s solution enables working with lower coupling factors and substantially increases the effective range enabling extremely high misalignment and even angular positioning when docking/landing.
Lower coupling factors also enable power transfer over a distance of up to 20cm between receiver & transmitter coils. The wireless charging solution also includes an advanced Foreign Object Detection (FOD) algorithm supported by our SmartInductive™ technology. Powermat’s wireless charging solutions use in-band communication between the power receiver and power transmitter removing the need for external radio for power control and regulation.
Power management
Additional to the advanced power transfer algorithm, Powermat’s solution offers a variety of power transmitter power management features based on flexible software implementation in the transmitter, including battery charging algorithm, DC to DC functionality, power source switching and PV cell MPPT management, saving additional system’s power management components both on the Receiver (Rx) side and the Transmitter (TX) side.
System integration
Powermat solution offers flexible, customized system interface on the transmitter side, starting from simple I/O interface to host system, optional simple, user interface (LED, Sound), and up to more advanced communication options as UART, CAN, and others, depending on host system requirements.
