Adiv Baruch, Chairman
Adiv joined Powermat in 2020, bringing with him over 30 years of experience in innovation leadership. Adiv is also the active Chairman of the Institute of Technology and Innovation in Israel, the Chairman of Elad health care solutions, Elad systems, and a few more publicly-traded companies in Israel (TSE) and other exchanges (NASDAQ, OTC, HK) as well as leads the Young Entrepreneurs Organization in Israel. Adiv was a founding member of Ness Technologies and served as a board member of the Bank of Jerusalem. Throughout his career, he has led tens of mergers, equestrians, and capital raises of over a Billion dollars as well as held his own philanthropic organization and has been a YPO member for over 17 years. Adiv served in the Israeli Navy and holds an Engineering degree from The Technion Israel Institute of Technology.
Ran Poliakine, Founder, Board Member, and Shareholder
At the cutting edge of technology for the past 25 years, Ran has been addressing consumer needs with practical and creative solutions while making use of existing and new technologies. Widely considered to be a visionary for his ability to identify and react to trends in the consumer marketplace, Ran has been crediting with founding entire product categories, adding modern twists to reinvent outdated technologies, and creating new paradigms for enhancing people’s lives across population segments and demographics. From the safe transfer and commercial viability of wireless energy to innovations in “smart” conductive textiles, washable electronics, and new use cases in nanotechnology, the breadth and depth of experience in functionality and design that Mr. Poliakine has brought to bear on his many inventions are astounding. In addition to founding Powermat, Ran is the CEO and founder of Nano X Imaging (NASDAQ: NNOX) as well as the founder of Wellsense USA and Illumigy Ltd.
Neil Z. Auerbach, Board Member
A private equity investor, Neil, is mainly known for his leadership roles in clean energy investment. He is the CEO of Hudson Sustainable Group, a global investment firm that invests exclusively in sustainable technologies. Neil is also the co-founder and Chairman of Sunlight Financial, which recently agreed to merge with Spartan II (NYSE: SPRQ), an Apollo Global Management affiliate (NYSE: APO). Before Hudson, Neil was a partner at Goldman Sachs, where he co-founded the U.S. alternative energy investment business within the firm’s Special Situations Group and led several of its most successful investments in renewable energy and managed several other companies within Goldman’s fixed-income division. Neil’s earlier professional career included Barclays Capital, where he served as Managing Director and U.S. Head of Structured Capital Markets at Barclays Capital, and Morgan Stanley, where he served as principal and co-head of a joint venture between Morgan Stanley’s Derivatives & Debt Capital Markets groups. Neil began his career as a tax attorney and practiced at several law firms, including Shearman & Sterling and McDermott, Will & Emery, and in government. Neil served on the Solar Energy Industry Association (SEIA) board, the Leadership Council of the American Council of Renewable Energy (ACORE), as a Commissioner on the National Commission on Energy Policy, and the Advisory Council of the Prince of Wales’ Rainforest Project. Neil holds a Master of Laws (LLM) from New York University School of Law, a Juris Doctor from Boston University School of Law, and a Bachelor of Science from the State University of New York at Albany.
Ofer Furth, Board Member
Adv Ofer Furth is the Chairman and Founder of First Libra and serves as a member of the Israeli Advisory Board (https://www.firstlibra.com/). He has substantial experience and expertise in legal financing in addition to over 20 years of complex litigation and arbitration experience as an attorney in which he represented clients before the superior courts in Israel and internationally. A key area of his expertise is assessing and developing IP portfolios and overseeing licensing campaigns and associated litigation disputes for technology companies. Ofer, is an accomplished leader, having served 5 years in the Israeli Navy, after he graduated with honors from the Israeli naval Academy.
Robert Warshauer, Board Member
Robert Warshauer is Managing Director, Head of the firm’s New York Investment Banking Group. Mr. Warshauer has over 25 years of experience in financings, mergers and acquisitions, and restructurings. He has advised on numerous transactions in a wide range of industries, including consumer, business services, manufacturing/industrial, healthcare, media and technology, energy, and transportation. Prior to joining Imperial Capital, Mr. Warshauer was a Managing Director at Kroll Zolfo Cooper, where he focused on advising clients on operational issues, acquisitions and recapitalizations. Mr. Warshauer was a Managing Director and member of the Board of Directors and the Commitment Committee of Giuliani Capital Advisors LLC, and its predecessor firm, Ernst & Young Corporate Finance LLC, where he specialized in corporate restructurings and mergers and acquisitions. Mr. Warshauer has also served as CEO and President of a branded retail business with over 500 locations and 5,000 employees, CEO of an international business services and manufacturing company with operations in 16 countries and was President and a member of the Board of Directors of a publicly traded technology company. Mr. Warshauer received his M.B.A. from New York University and his B.S.B.A. from Bucknell University. Mr. Warshauer is a former member of the Board of Directors of the American Bankruptcy Institute, frequent speaker at industry conferences, and often quoted in business publications. Mr. Warshauer currently serves on several corporate and charitable Boards of Directors.
Ron Ferber, Board Member
Ron Ferber has served as Wellsense’s President and Chief Executive Officer since October 2015. He was the original investor in Wellsense and has served on the Board since its founding. Ron is a uniquely talented entrepreneur with a proven track record of success.Ron co-founded HoMedics in 1987 where he served as President for 28 years. In 2011, he founded myCharge, a leader in the portable charging category. He has since launched many successful companies and continues to bring innovation and emerging technologies to the market. Ron also has many philanthropic endeavors including an organization close to his heart, The Friendship Circle, which he has been involved with since its infancy and continues to be an active member. Ron is a graduate of the University of Michigan.
Yariv Shnapp, Board Member
Yariv is the CEO and Founder of First Libra. He brings extensive experience in legal financing and has developed professional tools in building budgets, leading monitoring procedures, and hedging risks of legal proceedings. Yariv specializes in founding and managing finance, hi-tech, and traditional industry-related companies and is known for his proven ability for managing large-scale operations and handling complex negotiations.
Yariv served in high-ranking positions in the Israeli Air Force and the I.D.F. After his honorable discharge (Col.), he owned and managed a company specializing in providing management & counseling services to Israeli and abroad businesses. Yariv holds multiple academic degrees in mathematics & Computer science (B.Sc.), Political Science (M.A), and a Master’s degree in Law.
Wade Sheffer, Board Observer
Wade Sheffer Managing Director, General Motors Ventures, LLC. Prior to this appointment, Wade was Executive Director of Chassis Purchasing with responsibility for procuring chassis components and subsystems worldwide for General Motors. Wade joined GM in 1996 as a Test Engineer in the Structural Test Lab at the Milford Proving Ground. In 1999, he transitioned to the North America Outbound Logistics quality team. While on international assignment in Germany from 2002-2005, Wade assisted with the implementation of Vector SCM, a 4th party logistics joint venture. He repatriated to the U.S. in 2005 and was appointed Global Commodity Manager for Vehicle Infotainment. Wade relocated to Shanghai, China in 2006 where he was named Deputy Executive Director at Shanghai General Motors (SGM) in charge of purchasing. In 2009, Wade returned to the U.S. where he held various leadership positions in Global Purchasing and Supply Chain, which included leading the service components and accessories procurement for GM dealerships globally in his role as Purchasing Executive Director, GM Customer Care & Aftersales. Wade received a Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical engineering from Michigan Technological University in 1996 and earned a Master of Science in engineering degree with a focus on Management of Technology from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in 2000.
