Why Do Robots Need Wireless Charging?
Whether purposed for cleaning the floors or handling a large facility’s logistics – robots often have to return to their docking station and recharge when their battery runs out of power. Some robots are planned to meet their station autonomously, while others are charged manually.
Some of today’s domestic household robots, security warehouse robots, and most AMR’s & AGV’s that feature self-charging capabilities have trouble docking properly or require costly mechanical alignment mechanisms – leading to inefficiencies as they can stay unused, even mid-task, due to lack of power.
Ideal service robots should always be able to complete their task autonomously and recharge quickly by themselves. That’s where wireless charging comes in.
