Evolution of the Technology
The science of wireless energy transference began with experiments conducted by Nikolai Tesla in the late 19th. Building on existing theories of electromagnetic technology, Tesla proved that it was possible not only to transmit energy without wires but to control its trajectory. Using Tesla’s research as a basis for experimentation and development, our team of Powermat scientists and engineers successfully produced a modern day inductive energy transfer model to wirelessly charge smartphones and other devices. Powermat’s inductive coupling model for energy transfer offers the benefits of high efficiency, thin form factors and low noise emissions. Moreover, we’ve perfected the ability to miniaturize Powermat technology for maximum flexibility and design support to enable new platform integration.
